Discovery is the product
A paid discovery board is closer to a transparent marketplace than an editorial ranking. Buyers pay for placement; visitors use the board to discover destinations. The amount affects placement, but it does not prove quality, popularity or endorsement.
A useful board keeps those meanings separate. The price and ranking method should be visible, outbound links should be marked as sponsored, and a visitor should be able to inspect the listing record before leaving the platform.
How DISIAR calculates visibility
Every confirmed Stripe charge contributes to one destination's active score for 72 hours. Contributions expire independently. A later top-up adds a fresh 72-hour contribution; it does not restart older money.
Live 5 contains the five highest active totals. If two totals are equal, the listing that reached that total first stays ahead. When a contribution expires, the order is recalculated from the remaining active amounts.
- RM5 is enough to create a permanent public record even when it does not reach Live 5.
- Boards retain discoverability after a contribution leaves the live ranking.
- Clicks and views belong to the listing record; they are not erased when a ranking contribution expires.
What buyers should expect
A placement purchases visibility inside DISIAR, not traffic, leads, sales, search rank or an AI citation. Before checkout, the confirmation screen shows the target active total, current active score, projected position and the amount charged now.
The board can change before a payment is confirmed because another buyer may pay or an older contribution may expire. The confirmed charge remains a public placement record under the published Rules and Terms.
